THE SCIENCE
For me, the ability to translate light and distance and weather / atmosphere to a painting came with a scientific understanding of how light works. Here is a video to give you a scientific perspective of light before we start painting: Refraction, why glass prisms bend and separate light (2:34)

PART 1 | THEORY
We’ll be learning how to use a deeper understanding of the light and rainbow to paint a landscape. This first part shows how popular landscape painters out of history used this understanding to create the illusion of light and distance in their paintings.
